Sunwolf,
I don't hold much with a concurrent or simultaneous Aeon of Maat. I tend to be generally ambivelent to new "revelations" or at least to their universal applicability. Every their magickian has their revelation and one that may be of interest to their group or a small subset, but only the Logos has the universal revelation and delivers the word of the Aeon. I also tend to be a scriptualist and take everything back to the Holy Books.
I concur with Crowley's own observation, ironically quoted by Grant in his intro to Nema's Maat Magick, "Maat can wait."
There is only one mention of Maat in the holy books, Liber A'ash sub figura CCCLXX, verse 7. This is in fact not a reference to Maat, but is mearly a play on the goddesses name. The next phrase shows explicitly that it is an acronymn that referes instead to "the Master of the Temple of A.'.A.'." The play on Maat's name reinforces the nature of the Magister Templi's realization of Truth.
Crowley does not tie Maat into his thelemic cosmology while he does link Set/Satan in as the ShT, third secret key. (The Equinox of the Gods, 102-3). and... "This child Horus is a twin, two in one. Horus and Harpocrates are one, and they are also one with Set or Apophis, the destroyer of Osiris. It is by the destruction of the principle of death that they are born. The establishment of this new Aeon, this new fundamental principle, is the great work now to be accomplished in the world." (Equinox of the Gods, 134) The holy books (Liber A'ash, same verse as above) describes Set as Horus's covenant. Crowley thought that his own HGA Awaiss was Set/Shaitan/Satan.
Mogg Morgan also makes a convincing argument that Liber Samekh is a ritual invoking Set. The ritual is in fact Crowley's version of a Greek magickal papyri invoking "The Headless One," which is a form of Set. (Tankhem, Morgan 50; Seven Faces of Darkness, Don Webb 63-65)
Maat was also a relatively minor deity in Dynastic Egypt.
Kenneth Grant is also quite homophobic and does not bother to hide this in his writing:
Thus the blasphemy of the homosexual formula, for it denies Babalon and breeds devils in chaos. (Nightsides of Eden)
even going so far as denying the nature of the XI° OTO:
"It is emphatically not a formula involving homosexuality." (Outer Gateways)
and again
"A similar confusion of types has arisen in connection with the import of the XI° O.T.O., which involves the formula of protoplasmic reversion and which has nothing whatever to do with homosexuality." (Outer Gateways)
As far as the argument that Maat is "transaeonic" existing outside Time and, thus, is present at all Aeons... whatever floats your boat, but it doesn't float mine.
NEPTHYS: is both Set's sister and wife.
As for the others:
Atum form matter out of nothing. He jacked off and bore Shu and Tefnut, air and moisture. They in turn bore Geb (or Seb in Crowley's rendering) and Nuit, earth and sky. They then bore Osiris, Isis, Set and Nepthys. These deities constitute the Ennead. (Amon, "Tracking Seth" mektoub 2(9)
Hope this starts rather than stops some discussion.
